The bank has been making an excellent progress since its establishment. The bank is being recognised  as one of the best urban cooperative banks of the country. As regards Deposits it has reached Rs. 1083.45 crores as on 31 March 2006 and is a leading urban cooperative bank of the country and has continued to be the first among cooperative banks of Gujarat. The financial highlights are provided in the enclosed Annexure-I.

Apart from various deposit schemes., the bank has also diversified its advances portfolio for various industrial activities including finance to cottage and small scale industries, activities allied to agriculture like Farm Mechanization, professionals and self-employed like doctors, chartered accountants, engineers etc. The rate of interest ranges from 8% to 11% Details of the scheme can be obtained from the branches. The bank has been consistently paying dividend to its shareholders.

The grain merchants of Kalupur Chokha Bazar area which is the central market of Ahmedabad city for purchase and sale of food grains and other commodities conceived an idea of organizing a co-operative bank, to mobilise deposits from the public and provide credit and banking facilities to the traders and industrial entrepreneurs.  Consequently, the Ahmedabad Grain Merchants Association promoted an urban co-operative bank in the premises belonging to the Association,  Thus the Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank Limited was registered on 9-10-1970 and commenced banking business form 5-12-1970 in 250Sq. ft. area space only.  It received wholehearted support from the business community in particular and the public in general under the leadership of shree Baldevbhai Dosabhai Patel,  and other selfless enlightened and public spirited members of the Board of Directors of the bank who were conscious about genuine financial needs of the small traders and  industrial units.
